DOCUMENTARY & COLORFUL WEDDING IMAGERY

Hi, and welcome!

I'm Tucker, an Oregon-based documentary and luxury wedding photographer traveling for weddings across California, New York, and Europe. I always like to say my work is honest: It’s you and your love, on the most beautiful day of your lives, captured in a candid and authentic way.

What documentary photography means…

It means that a wedding day cannot, and should not, be reduced to a shot list. I don’t spend your wedding day making sure every picture-perfect moment is captured. Instead, I show up early, take a step back, observe, and document you and your loved ones. The moment they shed a tear as the final zipper is pulled on your dress, the 20 seconds of laughter after a tipsy dinner speech, or the 4-year-old who can’t help but giggle seeing you in a suit.

I’ll pull you aside for sunset portraits, grab you when I see something stunning, but the wedding day is meant to be LIVED, not perfectly posed.

On a wedding day, I shoot film and digital together. Film for that rich color and softness. Digital for the coverage that has to be there no matter what the light is doing. Both come back in the same gallery.

That's the whole approach: stay an observer; trusting that the real thing is more interesting than the arranged one.

Destination Weddings, from Carmel to the Greek Islands

I'm based in Portland, Oregon, and yet, most of my work happens somewhere else.

I've photographed weddings at Stonepine Estate in Carmel Valley, on the cliffs of Folegandros in the Greek islands, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, in intimate Chicago cathedrals, out in the Valley of Fire, Las Vegas, and on the Oregon Coast at Cannon Beach. Couples have brought me to Hawaii, Taos, New York City, Belize, Mexico, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Switzerland, and across Italy.

Travel is included in every collection. Why? Because where you're getting married shouldn’t be just another line item we have to figure out.

  • “…There’s something undeniably magical about the way Tucker sees and captures the world. What makes him truly exceptional… a kind, genuine, and deeply thoughtful individual. Someone you’d be lucky to have not just as your photographer, but as a guest and friend…”

Where are you based?

I'm based in Portland, Oregon. I photograph weddings throughout Oregon and Washington, and travel regularly for weddings in California, New York, and across Europe.
